Born on July 2, 1938 in Warren, Ohio, Hal Reniff (Harold Eugene Reniff) played for the New York Yankees and New York Mets over the course of his 7 year career. Reniff broke into the bigs on June 8, 1961 with the New York Yankees, and put up a 2.62 ERA in 89.1 innings pitched in 1963, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Hal Reniff's best season was 1963, when he posted a 2.62 ERA, notched 18 saves and struck out 56 batters.
