[edit] Biography

Hal Morris (William Harold Morris) was born on April 9, 1965 in Fort Rucker, Alabama. He made his Major League debut on July 29, 1988 for the New York Yankees. In 1990, his rookie year, he hit .340 with 7 home runs and 36 RBI. Morris played for the New York Yankees, Cincinnati Reds, Kansas City Royals and Detroit Tigers over the course of his 13 year career.

Most people believe that Hal Morris's best season was 1996, when he slugged 16 home runs, hit for a .313 average and knocked in 80 runs.

Morris was also one of the players named in baseball's Mitchell Report. According to the report, former Mets clubhouse attendant Kirk Radomski sold Morris steroids (specifically Deca-Durabolin and testosterone) in 1999. Morris' name and address were found in Radomski's seized address book.

Morris, like most players, declined to speak with investigators for the Mitchell Report. However, his lawyer penned a response to the Mitchell invitation in which he stated that Morris had never used performance-enhancing drugs in his career, but carefully avoided saying that he had purchased these drugs.
