Born on December 21, 1897 in Barberton, Ohio, Hal Haid (Harold Augustine Haid) played for the St. Louis Browns, St. Louis Cardinals, Boston Braves and Chicago White Sox over the course of his 6 year career. Haid broke into the bigs on September 5, 1919 with the St. Louis Browns, and put up a 4.07 ERA in 154.2 innings pitched in 1929, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Hal Haid's best season was 1929, when he posted a 4.07 ERA.
