Born on July 11, 1921 in Anaheim, California, Hal Gregg (Harold Dana Gregg) played for the Brooklyn Dodgers, Pittsburgh Pirates and New York Giants over the course of his 9 year career. Gregg broke into the bigs on August 18, 1943 with the Brooklyn Dodgers, and put up a 5.46 ERA in 197.2 innings pitched in 1944, his rookie year.
Most people believe that Hal Gregg's best season was 1945, when he posted a 3.47 ERA, won 18 games and struck out 139 batters.
