Born on August 18, 1898 in Peconic, New York, Hal Goldsmith (Harold Eugene Goldsmith) played for the Boston Braves and St. Louis Cardinals over the course of his 4 year career. Goldsmith broke into the bigs on June 23, 1926 with the Boston Braves, and put up a 4.37 ERA in 101 innings pitched in 1926, his rookie year.
