Born on December 11, 1924 in Greensboro, North Carolina, Hal Brown (Hector Harold Brown) played for the Chicago White Sox, Boston Red Sox, Baltimore Orioles, New York Yankees and Houston Colt .45s over the course of his 14 year career. Brown broke into the bigs on April 19, 1951 with the Chicago White Sox, and put up a 4.23 ERA in 72.1 innings pitched in 1952, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Hal Brown's best season was 1960, when he posted a 3.06 ERA, won 12 games and struck out 66 batters.
