HOLY COW-CUBS WIN!!! against a 9th inning attack by the Indians

Six game L-Streak Over

Going into the ninth with a 12-4 lead over the Cleveland Indians, the Chicago Cubs allow 9 hitters and 4 runs on 4 hits. Amazing enough the Cubs were able to hold off the tribe. Henry Blanco filled in tonight with 4 RBI's and a 3 run homer in 4th. The timing was perfect due to being without Barrett for those 10 games. Back to allowing 9 batters... No closer should allow that many batters to get to the plate in the bottom of the ninth...not to mention the 4 runs scored on the 4 hits.

The Cubs smashed three home runs on the night, including Phil Nevin's 200th career shot in the seventh inning. Nevin's 2 run homer gave the Cubs' lead to 10-4. Give the boys credit tonight with an early 1-0 lead on Jacque Jones' second-inning home run and extending to 3 by the third.

Sean Marshall started for the Cubs and was pulled after five innings. Storms delayed the game for one hour and Marshall surrendered four runs which three were homers.

Don't worry I'm not saying this is going to turn the season...HA! Just another great game against another team sharing a record under 500. The losing streak is over but the hull has just started for the Cubs to pull themselves out of the den they have so comfortably been hibernating in all year.

Just you. He is still only hitting .268 this month. However, his OBP this month has jumped up to .350.
