Born on July 9, 1956 in Ottawa, Illinois, Guy Hoffman (Guy Alan Hoffman) played for the Chicago White Sox, Chicago Cubs, Cincinnati Reds and Texas Rangers over the course of his 6 year career. Hoffman broke into the bigs on July 4, 1979 with the Chicago White Sox, and put up a 3.86 ERA in 84 innings pitched in 1986, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Guy Hoffman's best season was 1987, when he posted a 4.37 ERA and struck out 87 batters.
