Born on April 3, 1856 in Youngsville, Pennsylvania, Guy Hecker (Guy Jackson Hecker) played for the Louisville Colonels and Pittsburgh Pirates over the course of his 9 year career. Hecker broke into the bigs on May 2, 1882 with the Louisville Colonels, and put up a 1.30 ERA in 104 innings pitched in 1882, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Guy Hecker's best season was 1884, when he posted a 1.80 ERA, won 52 games and struck out 385 batters.
