Gus Niarhos

Gus Niarhos (Constantine Gregory Niarhos) was born on December 6, 1920 in Birmingham, Alabama. He made his Major League debut on June 9, 1946 for the New York Yankees. In 1948, his rookie year, he hit .268 with 0 home runs and 19 RBI. Niarhos played for the New York Yankees, Chicago White Sox, Boston Red Sox and Philadelphia Phillies over the course of his 9 year career.
