Gus Getz (Gustave Getz) was born on August 3, 1889 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He made his Major League debut on August 15, 1909 for the Boston Doves. In 1909, his rookie year, he hit .223 with 0 home runs and 9 RBI. Getz played for the Boston Doves, Brooklyn Superbas, Cincinnati Reds, Pittsburgh Pirates and Cleveland Indians over the course of his 7 year career.
