Guess the Annoying ESPN Employee!

In Bill Simmons' most recent mailbag, a reader asked this question:

"If there's one famous person you'd like to fight, who would it be?"

Simmons gave six answers (notables include Craig Sager and Joe Buck), but here's his fifth option (verbatim from http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=simmons/060714):

"I'm not allowed to say who's fifth because we work for the same company, but let's just say that there's two of them."

Simmons didn't give any other hints, but I know that everyone at Armchair has spent some time discussing annoying and idiotic sports announcers. So guess away! Obviously, this only includes ESPN employees. Who from ESPN would Bill Simmons most like to fight?

I'll give my two guesses in comments as well.

Guess 1: I'm almost positive that one is Skip Bayless. Simmons routinely mocks Skip's latest extreme point with humor that cuts to the truth. I bet Bill would love to smash in Skip's overly tanned and always moving face. He must be embarassed to share Page 2 space with a guy like him.

I agree with Bayless. The funniest thing I've seen in a long time was when Bayless was making fun of Woody Paige, saying "Who believes your name is Woody? Why don't you just go by your real name," and Woody stood up, and screamed in your face "Your name is SKIP BAYLESS! Do you think anyone believes a mother would name her child Skip Bayless?" It was awesome.

Guess 2: I really want to say Stephen A. Smith, but I bet he could convince anyone who wanted to fight him not to fight him. "Quite frankly, Shaquille O'Neal is the dominant player in the NBA, just like I am the most dominant personality at ESPN. Do you want to step into my house? DO YOU WANT TO? DO YOU KNOW WHAT YOU'RE ABOUT TO DO? THERE IS NO WAY YOU SURVIVE! So anyway, my (weak) guess is Chad Ford.

Ill admit it Im a Skip Bayless fan, and have been for a long time. I enjoy his comentatry, and have had the opportunity to speak with him several times and he's always been helpful for my own writting.

I think you (the author) is looking at it the wrong way. The two people are probably two of the few ESPN employees who AREN'T annoying that make The Sports Guy and others look bad.

When he says 'works for the same company' he means 'Disney' the parent company of ESPN - so it could be someone from ABC... tachnically it could even be Jimmy Kimmel - something we don't know about?

But it's Berman! How can you hate the guy who lays the shtick on about, oh, a foot thick on any given night? From his "He....could....go...all....the.....WAY....." to his bad accents to his yelling - he's like the 86 Bears. You hate youself for it, but you crack a dumb smile when he does his act (unless you have no soul and are a Yankees fan - then you just loudly complain about why the "Theeeeeeeeeeeeeee Yankees win" guy doesn't do more stuff).
