Guardado Traded to Reds

Cincinnati Reds' GM said they needed bullpen help. Unfortunately, they didn't get it. The Mariners probably needed to make some move to shake up their old and disgruntled roster.
The pure news: reliever and former All-Star closer Eddie Guardado was traded by the Seattle Mariners to the Cincinnati Reds for a minor league outfielder. The Mariners also sent cash to pay Guardado's considerable salary. (Source for paraphrasing: ESPN.com)
Pitching really isn't what's important for the Reds. It all comes down to offense in that park. Frankly, Guardado barely even qualifies as a lefty specialist because he has only one pitch: an 87 mph fastball, almost inevitably down the middle of the plate. I want to say that the Mariners are better off without him, but the bullpen was shallow to begin with, especially because Mike Hargrove doesn't know how to use it. That's another opinion.
I hope this kicks off MLB trade season. Is Carl Everett next?
