Grover Malone (John Grover Malone) was born on November 12, 1895 in Chicago, Illinois. After going to high school at LaSalle-Peru Township (LaSalle, IL), Malone attended the University of Notre Dame. Malone made his professional debut in the APFA in 1920 with the Chicago Tigers. He played in the APFA for 2 years, playing for the Rock Island Independents and Chicago Tigers over the course of his 2 year APFA career.Malone also played in the NFL for 1 year, playing for the Akron Pros the entire time.
