Grover Hartley (Grover Allen Hartley) was born on July 2, 1888 in Osgood, Indiana. He made his Major League debut on May 13, 1911 for the New York Giants. In 1914, his rookie year, he hit .288 with 1 home run and 25 RBI. Hartley played for the New York Giants, St. Louis Terriers, St. Louis Browns, Boston Red Sox and Cleveland Indians over the course of his 14 year career.

Most people believe that Grover Hartley's best season was 1915, when he knocked in 50 runs.
