Griffey to the Cubs?

Transactions in baseball are very fascinating to me. I am the type of person that will never shy away from offering my own opinion on what I think teams need to do, and I always like to be a critic when a deal is made that I don’t agree with. I speculate on deals all the time, for every team. Being a Cubs fan first, I feel that they are my absolute first priority.
I am still going through personal emotions of the Michael Barrett deal, but that was something that ultimately needed to be done. Although I don’t agree with the return the Cubs received, it is in the past and we have to move forward. As a result of that trade, it kinda shows that the Cubs wont be afraid to trade anyone at anytime within the next month to acquire anyone who they think will help them make a run for the division.
So I heard a report on Sportscenter last night that Ken Griffey Jr. wouldn’t mind being traded to the Cubs. That’s fine on his part, but if this is actually something that Jim Hendry is trying to put together I think he should include himself in the deal. Don’t get me wrong, I would love for the Cubs to have Griffey, but then consider the outfield congestion if that happens.
I know the whole thing is speculation, but I would like to evolve on this topic if I may. Right now the Cubs outfield is completely jammed packed and inconsistent the way it is. I think Soriano and Pie are set in left and center, respectively. What about Jacque Jones, Cliff Floyd, Angel Pagan, and Matt Murton all vying for right field? Well Murton is definitely Major-League ready and the Cubs had no choice but to demote him to Iowa last week. Cliff Floyd is a left fielder who gets reps in right a couple times a week. Jacques Jones can't have consistent numbers without consistent playing time. Angel Pagan is a bench guy who can fill in at any outfield position when needed.
I have said all along that Hendry cannot keep going after any outfielder who is available without addressing what he is going to do with his current outfielders. I am still wondering why he signed Cliff Floyd before spring training without trading Jacque Jones first.
Although Griffey would be welcomed with open arms, I hope Hendry doesn’t do anything stupid. He is trying to dig himself out of a hole right now, but it seems he is getting deeper and deeper. I hope he can find a way to make it work with what he has because everyone he has right now is a result of his own actions. I am not even considering what the Cubs would have to give up to acquire Griffey.
