Griese Won't Budge

Veteran Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Brian Griese refuses to take a pay-cut to allow the Bucs to sign Chris Simms to a long-term deal. The Bucs owe Griese a $2.6 million roster bonus in March, and his salary cap value will rise to more than $7 million this fall. Griese was 5-1 before he tore his ACL and MCL in 2005. The Buccaneers are currently about $19 million over the salary cap.

Simms seems like a good enough QB. Why bother with Griese?

I agree, cut him if he won't take a pay cut. You can find a better QB for less ont he free agent market. How about Kerry Collins as a backup, he won't be a starter for much longer.
