Born on July 29, 1951 in Lubbock, Texas, Greg Minton (Gregory Brian Minton) played for the San Francisco Giants and California Angels over the course of his 16 year career. Minton broke into the bigs on September 7, 1975 with the San Francisco Giants, and put up a 1.81 ERA in 79.2 innings pitched in 1979, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Greg Minton's best season was 1982, when he posted a 1.83 ERA, won 10 games, notched 30 saves and struck out 58 batters.
