Acquired:

Drafted by the Stampeders in the 6th round (46th overall) of the 2007 CFL Canadian Draft…Signed by the Calgary Stampeders on May 25, 2007.

Entering his 1st season in the CFL/Calgary Stampeders.

College:

2006 - (McGill)

In his senior year with the McGill Redmen, Hetherington recorded 38 receptions for a total of 596 receiving yards, ranking him second and first in the QUFL Conference in those respective categories…Hetherington also tallied 5 touchdown receptions in his final season, putting his career total to 14, making him the all-time leader amongst McGill receivers…Besides being recognized as a QIFC All-Star, he was also named a CIS second-team All-Canadian. Hetherington appeared in the CIS East-West All-Star Football game early in the year and was awarded the Charlie Bailey Trophy (Most Outstanding Team Player) and the award for Most Outstanding Offensive Player for his contributions as a McGill team co-captain in 2006. In 2006 he was also nominated for McGill male athlete of the year.

2005 - (McGill)

In only five games, Hetherington racked up a total of 27 receptions for 339 yards and 4 touchdowns which validated his status as an offensive team captain and a top receive in the QUFL conference…Hetherington was named the Most Outstanding Team Player on his team for his continued leadership on and off the field.

2004 - (McGill)

Hetherington caught 26 passes for 395 yards and 3 touchdowns in the 2004 season with the McGill Redmen…Earlier in the year, Hetherington was one of three Redmen to compete in the CIS East-West Football All-Star Game under familiar offensive coordinator Chuck McMann.

2003 - (McGill)

Recorded 22 receptions for 311 yards and 1 touchdown.

2002 - (McGill)

In his first year with McGill, Hetherington caught 3 passes for 49 yards and 1 touchdown in only 4 games.

Personal:

Holds the unique distinction of owning the McGill record for the fastest touchdown scored in a game, a 76-yard bomb from QB Dave Campbell on McGill's first play from scrimmage at the 30-second mark of a win at Bishop's in 2003…Was named the Quebec University athlete of the week on October 16, 2006 and the QIFC Offensive Player of the Week.
