Greg Gross (Gregory Eugene Gross) was born on August 1, 1952 in York, Pennsylvania. He made his Major League debut on September 5, 1973 for the Houston Astros. In 1974, his rookie year, he hit .314 with 0 home runs and 36 RBI. Gross played for the Houston Astros, Chicago Cubs and Philadelphia Phillies over the course of his 17 year career.

Most people believe that Greg Gross's best season was 1974, when he hit for a .314 average.
