I DON'T WANT TO MOVE FOR EIGHT HOURS
Five reasons to drink this Sunday What's better than a Sunday afternoon? It's the only day of the week that fosters guilt inside people for NOT laying on the couch, and for NOT enjoying the pleasantries of doing nothing. It's the only day of the week where you can order in for lunch and for dinner, [1] and not be categorized a "lazy piece of shit." Only on Sunday can you avoid self-degradation when you allow someone else to bring you your food while you're laying on the couch, resting from just making the damn phone call.
Ah, yes, Sunday afternoon.
And based on that rationale, thePigPen has decided to pass on five reasons urging you to lay on your couch and drink tomorrow afternoon. And no, it's not that thePigPen can't have fun without alcohol, it's simply just a lot more fun with it.
(Editors note: four of these occur during the afternoon so channel flipping may occasionally be called upon)
5. "He Got Game" is on Encore at 2:30 PM (ET) All I know is, if I was a reader (meaning I'm you, reading this blog), I would have already finished a whiskey drink from the time I read "He" to the time I read "Game." C'mon guys, you can't tell me watching Jesus Shuttlesworth's venturesome journey through the troubles of family feuds and basketball, while sipping on a whiskey drink, isn't something reminiscent of uncut bliss. What more could you ask for out of a Sunday afternoon? [2] 4. Some NASCAR race, ESPN 3:00 PM (ET) Here's my stance on NASCAR. I don't give a shit, but I'm well aware of the massive quantity of people who do care. So, with that said, the Brickyard 400 (I think) is your No. 4 reason to join the "drink and do nothing party" tomorrow afternoon. I'm not embarrassed to say I know more about about an elephant's menstrual cycle than the Brickyard 400, but hey, that's what the whiskey is for.

3. The Canadian Open, CBS 4:00 PM (ET) Sunday. Relax. Golf. Is it just me or do those three words all look exactly alike? Either that, or they're invariably interchangeable. Sunday golf is relaxing. Period. It doesn't matter if it's the Masters or the Verizon Heritage Classic, golf is supposed to be watched on Sunday. The announcers are even courteous enough to whisper on account of their respects towards our hangovers from Saturday night. No loud noises. It would almost be rude if we didn't watch golf on Sunday. Alcoholics everywhere need to recognize the announcer's kind gestures and be thankful for their intentions.

2. Entourage, HBO 10:00 PM (ET) (A little editor's note from thePigPen: Use the first three to prepare for No. 2) Entourage pretty much speaks for itself. If you're an Entourage fan, there is a 99.9 percent chance you were going to be drinking while watching this show whether this article was written or not. And if you choose to participate in the Greatness of Sunday Afte [3] rnoon, you should be good and fucked up by the time Entourage comes on.

1. ArenaBowl XXI, ABC 3:00 PM (ET) What? The ArenaBowl XXI. Columbus and San Jose for all the marbles. Columbus and San Jose? San Jose and Columbus? Why does it feel like those two teams should never be in the championship of anything. It doesn't sound intimidating or intense. It's doesn't have that powerful ambiance a championship game should have. But it's football. And it's the best we've got. Whiskey and football, whether it's indoors or outdoors, is still whiskey and football. And during the summer, our only chance at whiskey and football is the ArenaBowl. So cheers ArenaBowl XXI.
