Greasy Neale (Alfred Earle Neale) was born on November 5, 1891 in Parkersburg, West Virginia. He made his Major League debut on April 12, 1916 for the Cincinnati Reds. In 1916, his rookie year, he hit .262 with 0 home runs and 20 RBI. Neale played for the Cincinnati Reds and Philadelphia Phillies over the course of his 8 year career.

Most people believe that Greasy Neale's best season was 1920, when he stole 29 bases.
