Grantland Rice Award
The Grantland Rice Award has been presented annually since 1954 to the college football national champion, as selected by the Football Writer’s Association of America. Since 1992, the annual selections have been made by a 4-5 person panel of sports writers. The award is named for Grantland Rice (1880-1954), often referred to as the dean of American sportswriters.
