[edit] Biography
Grady Alderman (Grady Charles Alderman) was born on December 10, 1938 in Detroit, Michigan. After going to high school at Madison Heights (MI), Alderman attended the University of Detroit Mercy. Alderman made his professional debut in the NFL in 1960 with the Detroit Lions. He played for the Minnesota Vikings and Detroit Lions over the course of his 15 year career.
Most people believe that 1961 was Grady Alderman's best year.
Bold textI always wondered what came of Grady. For a short time I grew up with him in the projects on E. Nevada in Detroit. He did not hang around with us a lot as he was a bit younger but his brother Gene was with us a lot. Gene Alderman seemed to get into trouble a lot unlike his brother Grady. Grady seemed like a likeable kid and there was word that he wanted to play pro football as he did. When the Vikings had their great shake up in the 60's Grady may have been the only one left with them to rebuild on. I think this was after Vince Lombardi.
