Watford midfielder Al Bangura faces a trial hearing tomorrow morning (26th November) to determine whether he will be allowed to remain in the UK or be forced to return to his homeland of Sierra Leone.
The popular young star came to England four years ago seeking asylum, having been trafficked via Guinea and France (where a French man attempted to sell him into prostitution) after fleeing Freetown following the death of his father.
Bangura was granted permission to stay in the UK initially but this has now been revoked and an appeal to keep him in the country has already been turned down. He's established strong ties to the UK, starting a family with his girlfriend here, has a promising career and is paying tax at the countrys highest rate - for the government to even think of deporting him is a disgrace, the guy is a role model to kids in this country and others, not to mention a fantastic footballer with a promising career ahead of him.
Watford manager Aidy Boothroyd will take time out from training ahead of Tuesdays Championship game with Burnley to speak in Banguras defence at the hearing - hopefully sense will prevail and Al will remain in the UK and at Vicarage Road for many years to come.
