Ladies and Gentlemen! I present to you, the REAL T.O.
You can't hate you some him!
That was the article, here's the P.S.
If you opened up this post to comment about how you're sick of T.O.,
A) Join the club,
2) turn off your TV and live your life media-free,
III) take a sec to realize there's MANY more dudes in the NFL that are truly worse people.
Y'all talk like he's the next Hitler.
I'm not a T.O apologist, I am a fan of the good story and an advocate for common sense. That being said, STOP taking every T.O. blurb so freeking personal and keep these things in mind when you are just about to smash your TV.
Terrell has never:
- beat/killed his wife/kids
- got arrested for killing someone while drunk driving
- was a suspect/witness in a double murder
- took strippers across state lines for a sex cruise (that we know of)
- been arrested for carrying a concealed weapon
- pretty sure he doesn't kick his dog
- doesn't keep an emormous posse around
- he hasn't cut a bad rap album or appeared in a high budget, low talent movie (yet)
- never failed a drug test or was accused of HGH use (...yet, I'm working on it =)
- never said anything bad about ACGM users personally (yet).
So, he's a media whore.
SO WHAT? Don't like it? Change the channel, check another website (just kidding). I hear that commercial, cable and/or satellite television have manny options nowadays. At least he's creative - whether it's sharpies, pom-poms, doing the 'T' on the Dallas star or questioning his playmate-dating teammate's sexuality. Since we'll NEVER know the real story behind Donovan, Hugh Douglas and T.O. in the Eagles locker room, it's kind of stupid to assume we do know based on how the media spun it.
Yeah, sometimes I feel bad for T. Eldorad. I kinda can understand how he feels. (hey, I'm an attention whore too!) He's misunderstood, maybe a little crazy/genius and craves ANY attention at all costs (I'm sure his parents are to blame somehow). He is going to be in for a world of painful hurt when his career is over, the spotlight goes out and the microphones get pointed elsewhere. Those days are not far away. (I think he'd make a fun TV analyst, but THAT won't happen)
But deep inside of all of the exterior mess he's putting up for the world to chew on is an insecure, fearful little boy. He regularly pushes people out of his personal life for fear they may get too close; HOW many personal assistants has he gone through? He's DEEPLY introspective, paranoid and hypersensitive to criticism. Why do you think he has to be the workout freak he is? He has to escape demons we cannot imagine, and he does that by running crisp routes and getting yards after the catch.
He's NOT a competitive person, he's selfish. He's NOT a good teammate, he's selfish. He doesn't play well with others, he's selfish. Does that make him a BAD person??? He IS known as being me-first, but IS he really? He does have an nearly-insane work ethic. He is driven by something few of us can comprehend or even imagine. But he IS still a human being doing the best he can under the circumstances and he seems to do even better on the biggest stages - you can't argue with results.
That's ALL that should really matter to anyone - his performance on the field. He is primarily a football player, after all. You should know as much about the personal life of Terrell Owens as you do about Tinker Owens. Don't blame T.O. because you keep seeing/hearing/reading about him. Blame the media that you follow like moths to a flame. Your attention is what makes their $$$, and they KNOW it!
Life is NOT this hard, people... Be discriminating about what you take in to your brain.
Don't like T.O.? Don't watch, don't read, don't listen.
Like T.O.? Enjoy him while you can, he won't be around much longer... and the media will find some other idiot to replace him, for sure.
Just like:
Don't like Manny Stiles? Don't read, don't vote, and definitely don't respond... you'll just be opening a can of worms!
Sometimes silence is MUCH louder than popping off!

If you don't read the P.S., you'd see it isn't about Terrell Owens at all, but Tinker Owens, former Saints Wide Receiver!
