Good Choice From A-Rod: Why Stay Where You're Not Wanted?

"At 9:32 there was a voice mail from Scott Boras to call him. He wanted to give me a heads up on something, was the message," Cashman said. "And then at 9:42 was a text message saying he was opting out."
It wasn't professional, but Rodriguez did what's best. Cashman wanted to speak with Rodriguez before his decision, but didn't get the chance.
"If there was no public announcement from Scott Boras on that, you could still always unring the bell because from the public standpoint, the bell was never rung." Cashman said. "I could have said, `Hey, listen, you sure you want to do this? Let's talk, you know, you take another crack at an opportunity -- can you please, you know, give us an opportunity to sit down and have the dialogue?"'
It wouldn't work, Rodriguez made his final decision. Playing for the Yankees wouldn't work, because he was treated wrong. Fans disliked him, and his teammates aren't fair towards him. Money wouldn't change Rodriguez mind, it's his comfort.
A conversation should have happened, because it's professional. Cashman helped him, and got Rodriguez away from the Texas Rangers. Rodriguez should have meet with Cashman before his departure.
"Obviously the message was sent, and it was sent loud and clear, you know, through Scott Boras when he announced it the way he did, that the bell couldn't be unrung after that," Cashman said.
"We instructed the Yankees that we would be more than happy to meet with them once we knew more information about the ownership's decision about the composition of the team and that it was not possible to make any decision within a 10-day period," Boras said.
It doesn't matter now, because Rodriguez isn't a Yankee. Meeting with Cashman wouldn't make sense, because its too late.
Finding another team isn't hard, because Rodriguez has the talent. "I would say A-Rod's my favorite to watch," Brooks Robinson said. "I enjoy watching him, just the way he plays the game."
The announcement wasn't an issue, because the World Series wasn't entertaining. The Boston Red Sox had the advantage, and were taking control. The World Series needed a surprise, and Rodriguez give it.
"I've met with A-Rod a few times and I really like the guy. To me he's a class act. I'm sure he didn't go around saying, 'Hey, I'm going to opt out,"' Robinson said. "Somehow it got out and whether it was supposed to or not that's just the way it is. But his career won't be complete until he gets in a World Series. I mean a World Series is so important. As a kid, at least me, that's all I ever dreamed about."
Rodriguez needs a championship, because the Yankees couldn't provide that.
Many teams are interested in Rodriguez, and he'll have many to choose from.
The Los Angeles Dodgers have showed interest, but Rodriguez and Boras haven't made any decision. The Dodgers need help, because they broke down this season. Hiring Torre is the goal, but it won't change anything if the players remain. Changes and improvement need to happen.
The New York Mets are interested as well, but I doubt it'll happen. The Mets have David Wright and Jose Reyes, their line-up doesn't need improvement. Pitching should be the goal, because that caused their failure.
Playing in the National League will be easy for Rodriguez, and he'll succeed every season. Mostly N.L. teams have been showing interest, and its likely he'll play there.
The Los Angeles Angels are the only American League team that's showing interest.
The Boston Red Sox are the best for Rodriguez, because he'll have the chance to win a championship. He'll be threated good by the fans, and the teammates will show respect. The pressure isn't as hard in Boston, and comfort wouldn't be an issue.
