Glav's Psychologically Manhandled

On Sunday against the Red Sox, 23 year old Scott Kazmir of the DRays threw 97 pitches, K'ed 8, and let 7 Sox get on base while still holding them scoreless. Similarily Glavine threw 95 pitches, let up 7 baserunners (on 2 hits), and gave up an earned run. Additionally, they both got pulled after the 6th and received no decisions for not delivering the key hits that their teams seemed to be unable to come up with. Here's the kicker: the DRays beat the Sox 5-2 while the Mets lost to the Brewers 4-2 in 13.
There numerous reasons for why the Mets sucked just enough to make David Oreck (of vaccuum fame and those wonderous tv commercials for you idiots) turn over in his grave. Fortunately, for maids and housecleaning company's everywhere David isn't dead yet! But, you can just imagine the reprecussions of this kind of Mets suck a few days, months, or even years (not very likely considering Mr. Oreck is in those golden 80s) from now.
In this odd comparison of AL-NL games I'm going to share a few numbers to make the loss and the suck felt that much more. Glavine turned the ball over to the 7th best MLB bullpen in ERA (2nd in the NL), 16th in innings pitched (so God knows they aren't overworked), and 3rd in opponent BAA. Kazmir, frustrated as all hell after pitching brilliantly, handed it over to a bullpen that was last in ERA (6.65.... why comment even on that), 2nd to last in saves (not really that telling a number when the Skankee Yankees are dead last with 16), 2nd in losses, and last in opponent BAA at .307 (that makes Carlos Delgado and half of the Mets eager enough to petition Selig for another round of interleauge play)! Additionally, Dice-K of the Sox headed to the showers ecstatic thinking that his bullpen would get it done because they are 1st in ERA, 1st in opponent BAA, and 3rd to last in innings pitched (recently heard there's moss growing on the pitchers mound out in the pen.. the north side of it obviously).
So how the hell do the Mets pitchers give up the lead to the Brewers, whose pen has 10 more losses and a worse ERA among other stats, and how does the DRay's pen shut down the Sox, whose bullpen is bored but sharp???
This is obviously the plot of owners Doubleday (of publishing fame, again for you idiots) and Wilpon getting together to cash in from the profits of a book that includes a wizard (Glavine) and a secret society (the rest of the organization) to mentally scar the wizard for eternity. But he lives!
Endnote: Luis Castillo 0-for, with a half-web gem... if only there were stats to say how many runners he left stranded... at this stage it stands at ≥ 4
