Gino Cappelletti (Gino Raymond Michael Cappelletti) was born on March 26, 1934 in Keewatin, Minnesota. After going to high school at Keewatin (MN), Cappelletti attended the University of Minnesota. Cappelletti made his professional debut in the AFL in 1960 with the Boston Patriots. He played in the AFL for 10 years, playing for the Boston Patriots the entire time. Cappelletti also played in the NFL for 1 year, playing for the Boston Patriots the entire time.

Most people believe that 1961 was Gino Cappelletti's best year, as he hauled in 45 receptions, had 768 receiving yards and caught 8 TD passes. Gino was the 1st runner up to League MVP George Blanda in 1961. Gino was recognized as the League's MVP in 1964 and is the only AFL to win the award and be the first runner up for the MVP Award as well.

Gino holds the NFL record of scoring 7.5 points per game over a a career of more than 10 years. Gino averaged 9.5 per points game over a 6 year period and he is the only NFL Player to account for at least 34% of his teams total points scored in a season for 8 consecutive seasons. Gino could be the only player to score at least 20 points in a game 8 times.
