Gil Torres (Don Gilberto (Nunez) Torres) was born on August 23, 1915 in Regla, Cuba. He made his Major League debut on April 25, 1940 for the Washington Senators. In 1944, his rookie year, he hit .267 with 0 home runs and 58 RBI. Torres played for the Washington Senators for his entire 4 year career.

Most people believe that Gil Torres's best season was 1944, when he knocked in 58 runs.
