Gil Sterr (Gilbert N. Sterr) was born on July 30, 1900 in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin. After going to high school at Beaver Dam (WI), Sterr attended Carroll College. Sterr made his professional debut in the NFL in 1926 with the Racine Tornadoes. He played for the Racine Tornadoes for his entire 1 year career.
