[edit] Biography

Born on October 26, 1965 in Nogales, Arizona, Gil Heredia (Gilbert Heredia) played for the San Francisco Giants, Montreal Expos, Texas Rangers and Oakland Athletics over the course of his 10 year career. Heredia broke into the bigs on September 1, 1991 with the San Francisco Giants, and put up a 3.92 ERA in 57.1 innings pitched in 1993, his rookie year.

There is some disagreement on what was Gil Heredia's most productive season. Some believe that it was 2000, when he posted a 4.12 ERA, won 15 games and struck out 101 batters. However, others believe that it was 1999, when he posted a 4.81 ERA, won 13 games and struck out 117 batters.
