Gil Flores (Gilberto (Garcia) Flores) was born on October 27, 1952 in Ponce, Puerto Rico. He made his Major League debut on May 8, 1977 for the California Angels. In 1977, his rookie year, he hit .278 with 1 home run and 26 RBI. Flores played for the California Angels and New York Mets over the course of his 3 year career.
