There's a lot of pressure on this team. Not being able to reach expectations has been their problem.
Now everyone wants to see if the New York Giants have what it takes.
Ending the season strong has been the New York Giants problem. Since New York Giants head coach Tom Coughlin has been there, inconsistent second half seasons is what this team struggles with.
It's not Tom Coughlin individually, it's the team. Eli Manning becomes inconsistent, the defense can't hold up, and media attention. These are part of the reasons.
This problem should become the main focus, because this can't continue. They have too much talent for this to remain. Expectations are always set high, but never being able to achieve.
The New York Giants should be considered one of the best, year in and year out. But not being able to succeed towards the end has stopped that from happening. This isn't a horrible team, but they always find away to fail.
Eli Manning is the main reason for this. He hasn't become formula with the NFL competition. Just look at him play. In the second half of the season he becomes Eli and his last name Manning gets thrown out the window.
He does struggle with leadership. Eli Manning doesn't take the full role of a quarterback. Being a quarterback takes yelling, getting on your teammates. Eli Manning doesn't do that, he is still learning.
For how long? Eli Manning has been in the league for three seasons, and he isn't performing the way he should.
He has talent, we all see it. And the pressure isn't the problem, or his last name. Maybe Eli Manning is just a slow learner.
San Diego Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers started his first season last year. He had a quarterback rating of 92.0, and 3388 passing yards. Eli Manning start his first season three years ago. His quarterback rating last season was 77.0, and 3244 passing yards.
It's clear that Eli Manning hasn't become the quarterback everyone is waiting on. Maybe he will never be.
New York Giants Michael Strahan has made the news all off-season, because of his choice to hold out.
He wants to retire, or maybe a new contract.
Nobody knows the true story, but its not because of retirement. Michael Strahan is tied with former NFL player Lawrence Taylor for the most sacks all-time.
Michael Strahan is not going to retire until he passes Lawrence Taylor, and becomes the all-time leader in sacks.
Michael Strahan has missed almost the whole training camp, but he isn't going to fall off. He knows what he needs to do.
He didn't have a great season last year, and he wants to make up for that. Michael Strahan will have a big impact on this team.
Former New York Giants running back Tiki Barber has made the news as well.
Tiki Barber hasn't done anything, but cause problems for the New York Giants. Bashing the Tom Coughlin, and criticizing him in recent comments.
It's not fair for Tiki to cause this negative attention for this team. He isn't playing anymore, and to create problems isn't good.
Saying Eli Manning doesn't have leadership is true, but the way Tiki Barber is acting he doesn't have them himself.
A leader wouldn't call out others, and becoming a problem. Tiki Barber needs to focus on his second career, and leave the criticizing alone.
