Get Out Your Wallets! Picking Against the Spread (Week 3)

Rough first week for me to say the least. I went 1-3 on my bets, but week 1 is always tough to get a feel for when betting against the spread. Last week, I went 3-0 betting against the spread, taking the Browns (+7), Titans (+7.5), and Packers (+1). After a nice solid week under my belt, here are some picks and breakdowns for week 3.
Cincinnati (+3) at Seattle
The Bengals look to overcome a tough loss and pick on a mediocre defensive backfield. Seattle has struggled a bit getting pressure on the quarterback, amassing 3 sacks and zero interceptions. With Carson Palmer's quick release, he might not even be touched on Sunday. The Seahawks are also among the top 5 in the NFC in most passing yards and most total yards allowed. Look for a few celebrations from #85. Bengals it is.
Minnesota (+3) at Kansas City
The Chiefs have been god awful in the first two weeks of the season, and won't get any better against a good run defense. Without Will Shields and Willie Roaf to run behind, LJ will struggle all year, especially against the defending top run-stopping defense in the NFL. Even with journeyman Kelly Holcomb probably starting, the offense should be productive enough behind Chester Taylor and Adrian Peterson to get the job done. Take the Vikes.
Cleveland (+3) at Oakland
This is my gut-check pick. The Browns offense looked great last week and I think they can carry it over. The defense, although they are certainly not great, is better than how they played against Cincinnati. The Raiders offense has this undescribable ability to make even the worst defenses look like the 2000 Ravens. Speaking of defense, what happened to the Raiders? Defense wase bright spot for the silver and black last year, and now they're the second worst defense in the league (by YPG). Behind who? You guessed it...the Browns. Take the Browns offense over the Raiders offense.
Good luck and happy betting!
