Born on August 20, 1924 in Holland, Michigan, George Zuverink (George Zuverink) played for the Cleveland Indians, Detroit Tigers, Cincinnati Reds and Baltimore Orioles over the course of his 8 year career. Zuverink broke into the bigs on April 21, 1951 with the Cleveland Indians, and put up a 3.75 ERA in 209 innings pitched in 1954, his rookie year.

Most people believe that George Zuverink's best season was 1957, when he posted a 2.48 ERA and won 10 games.
