George Washington (Sloan Vernon Washington) was born on June 4, 1907 in Linden, Texas. He made his Major League debut on April 17, 1935 for the Chicago White Sox. In 1935, his rookie year, he hit .283 with 8 home runs and 47 RBI. Washington played for the Chicago White Sox for his entire 2 year career.
