George Twombly (George Frederick Twombly) was born on June 4, 1892 in Boston, Massachusetts. He made his Major League debut on July 9, 1914 for the Cincinnati Reds. In 1914, his rookie year, he hit .233 with 0 home runs and 19 RBI. Twombly played for the Cincinnati Reds, Boston Braves and Washington Senators over the course of his 5 year career.
