Born on July 7, 1882 in Kinston, North Carolina, George Suggs (George Franklin Suggs) played for the Detroit Tigers, Cincinnati Reds and Baltimore Terrapins over the course of his 8 year career. Suggs broke into the bigs on April 21, 1908 with the Detroit Tigers, and put up a 2.40 ERA in 266 innings pitched in 1910, his rookie year.

Most people believe that George Suggs's best season was 1914, when he posted a 2.90 ERA, won 24 games and struck out 132 batters.
