George Somers (George A. Somers) was born on October 5, 1915 in Fountain Springs, Pennsylvania. Somers attended La Salle University. Somers made his professional debut in the NFL in 1939 with the Philadelphia Eagles. He played for the Pittsburgh Steelers and Philadelphia Eagles over the course of his 4 year career.

Most people believe that 1940 was George Somers's best year.
