George Sims (George P. Sims) was born on October 23, 1927 in Afton, Texas. After going to high school at Seymour (Afton, TX), Sims attended Baylor University. Sims made his professional debut in the NFL in 1949 with the Los Angeles Rams. He played for the Los Angeles Rams for his entire 2 year career.

Most people believe that 1949 was George Sims's best year, as he picked off 9 passes and ran back an interception for a touchdown.
