George Stone (George Robert Stone) was born on September 3, 1876 in Lost Nation, Iowa. He made his Major League debut on April 20, 1903 for the St. Louis Browns. In 1905, his rookie year, he hit .296 with 7 home runs and 52 RBI. Stone played for the St. Louis Browns for his entire 6 year career.
Most people believe that George Stone's best season was 1906, when he stole 35 bases, hit for a .358 average and knocked in 71 runs.
