Born on February 18, 1889 in Rochester, New York, George Mogridge (George Anthony Mogridge) played for the Chicago White Sox, New York Yankees, Washington Senators, St. Louis Browns and Boston Braves over the course of his 15 year career. Mogridge broke into the bigs on August 17, 1911 with the Chicago White Sox, and put up a 4.04 ERA in 64.2 innings pitched in 1912, his rookie year.

There is some disagreement on what was George Mogridge's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1918, when he posted a 2.18 ERA, won 16 games and struck out 62 batters. However, others believe that it was 1921, when he posted a 3.00 ERA, won 18 games and struck out 101 batters.
