George Lyon (George Cardinal Lyon) was born on March 30, 1907 in Jamestown, Kansas. Lyon attended Kansas State University. Lyon made his professional debut in the NFL in 1929 with the New York Giants. He played for the Cincinnati-St. Louis Reds-Gunners, Brooklyn Dodgers, Cleveland Indians, Portsmouth Spartans and New York Giants over the course of his 5 year career.
