George Kavel (George Charles Kavel) was born on May 3, 1910 in Wendel, Pennsylvania. After going to high school at Norwin (Irwin, PA), Kavel attended Carnegie Mellon University. Kavel made his professional debut in the NFL in 1934 with the Pittsburgh Pirates. He played for the Pittsburgh Pirates for his entire 1 year career.
