George Burns (George Joseph Burns) was born on November 24, 1889 in Utica, New York. He made his Major League debut on October 3, 1911 for the New York Giants. In 1913, his rookie year, he hit .286 with 2 home runs and 54 RBI. Burns played for the New York Giants, Cincinnati Reds and Philadelphia Phillies over the course of his 15 year career.

Most people believe that George Burns's best season was 1914, when he stole 62 bases, hit for a .303 average and knocked in 60 runs.
