George Hecht (Alfred George Hecht) was born on September 17, 1920 in Chicago Heights, Illinois. After going to high school at Bloom Township (Chicago Heights, IL), Hecht attended the University of Alabama. Hecht made his professional debut in the AAFC in 1947 with the Chicago Rockets. He played for the Chicago Rockets for his entire 1 year career.
