Born on February 13, 1909 in Catchings, Mississippi, George Gill (George Lloyd Gill) played for the Detroit Tigers and St. Louis Browns over the course of his 3 year career. Gill broke into the bigs on May 4, 1937 with the Detroit Tigers, and put up a 4.51 ERA in 127.2 innings pitched in 1937, his rookie year.
