George Gilchrist (George Robert Gilchrist, Jr.) was born on January 9, 1928 in Memphis, Tennessee. After going to high school at Manassas (Memphis, TN), Gilchrist attended Tennessee State University. Gilchrist made his professional debut in the NFL in 1953 with the Chicago Cardinals. He played for the Chicago Cardinals for his entire 1 year career.
