George Foster (George Arthur Foster) was born on December 1, 1948 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. He made his Major League debut on September 10, 1969 for the San Francisco Giants. In 1971, his rookie year, he hit .241 with 13 home runs and 58 RBI. Foster played for the San Francisco Giants, Cincinnati Reds, New York Mets and Chicago White Sox over the course of his 18 year career.

Most people believe that George Foster's best season was 1977, when he slugged 52 home runs, hit for a .320 average and knocked in 149 runs.
